Spring flowering bulbs are some of my most favorite flowers to grow! They are planted in the fall before the ground freezes in cold climates, and in the late autumn/early winter for the rest of us. Often these bulbs show the first signs of life in the early spring, and it’s a much needed reminder that the flowers will once again be blooming after drab winter.
MY TOP PERENNIALS
Since starting the farm 5 years ago on leased land, I have been slowly adding to my wish list of perennial flowers, trees and shrubs to plant “one day.” Even though it can be tough to be patient while waiting for the right time (and money!) to make long-term investments, its worth being patient to do things right. Over the past year and a half, we have been heavily investing in perennial flowers and foliage and I’m excited to share some of my favorites with you.
Somehow I blinked and its already the end of July! This has been our busiest and most wonderful season yet, so I wanted to take a moment to share some updates of what has been happening so far this year.
LATE SUMMER HARVEST
I imagine that like me, you are feeling anxious for spring and the return of green leaves and colorful flowers! It won’t be long now, but sometimes I just need a reminder that winter will end and the flowers will return.
